About Dancing with Destiny

 Dance has always been a passion of mine since the age of 11. While growing up through many dance experiences in my life the passion only grew stronger. I have found that dance is a hidden language that one expresses through movement. Dance has drawn me closer to God because that is how I communicate with him & how he speaks to me through the music. The musicality in dance is how a dancer hears the music they are dancing to and interprets it into the moves they make. Dancing to the beat of his heart. I began to choreograph and dance with a purpose. I became a storyteller. This new outlook helped me to work through emotions that I was feeling in different parts of my life. It’s beautiful how the Lord had put 2 passions within me & thats how the idea of opening DWD came forth.  I’ve worked with children across all ages from age 2 & up. In the 10 years of working as a preschool teacher, elementary teacher, SPED teacher I learned the importance of understanding children & how their brain works. Through my experience I saw the gift the Lord had given me to work with children of all abilities-the patience,nurturing love & creativity to teach them in different ways brought my joy to my heart. I’m honored to have stepped into a role as a children’s ministry leader at my home church. I don’t take it lightly when serving children because they are our next future & deserve the best live & care.  I had began to teach dance at Austin ISD schools through a non-profit organization called Dance Another World which then collided the two passions within me, children & dance.  After prayer & Gods guidance I was able to launch DWD in the year of 2022 offering recreational dance classes to help dancers unlock the potential & gift of dance inside of them. Here at Dancing with Destiny it is more than dance to us, it’s PURPOSE! We want our students to know that they are created uniquely by God. We desire to share the joy of dance through positive instruction & that they may reach the community through the story they tell through dance. That when people watch these girls dance that they will feel freedom & joy!
